Vin Scialla Guest artist-teacher

The files on this page include a handout of Middle Eastern Rhythms he taught my class to play on bucket drums, hand drums, and authentic middle eastern instruments he brought to the class. Despite the irregular meters, students successfully played all the patterns and aurally identified each accurately. Additionally, they kept playing the patterns accurately while Vin improvised over their accompaniments. Vin has graciously given his permission to post his handout on this site.
